Project Stakeholders
Valued Partnerships
Project Team
The project team consists of Kurt, Alex and Oliver. They will be responsible for developing the KetoWhistle prototype in accordance with the goals agreed upon with their client, Krishnan Murugappan. During this project they will be subject to feedback from their Shadow Team, their tutor Lu Chen and the ENGN4221 course convenor, Dr. Catherine Galvin.
Client: Krishnan Murugappan
Krishan Murugappan is a Research Fellow within CECS, working on the Grand Challenge: Our Health in Our Hands (OHIOH): Future Personalised Medical Technologies for a Sustainable and Effective Healthcare. He will assist the project team in defining the project goals and scope, as well as providing feedback and guidance on their work where necessary.
Shadow Team
The Shadow Team for the KetoWhistle project is the SmartWindows project team. They will be responsible for giving feedback on the project team's progress during each audit. The project team will endeavour to ensure their repository easy to navigate in order to facilitate this process.
CECS
The outputs of the project team must meet standards set by the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science in order to successfully complete the ENGN4221 course. The KetoWhistle project is also an internal CECS project, meaning any significant contributions by the project team will be a positive outcome for CECS.
Diabetic Individuals
Diabetics are the eventual end users of the KetoWhistle, which will be invaluable in helping to detect the occurrence of ketoacidosis in a non-invasive manner. The project team must ensure that the KetoWhistle is safe, easy and enjoyable to use by diabetics in order to ensure the success of the product.
Dr. Catherine Galvin
Dr. Galvin is the course convenor for ENGN4221. She has a strong interest in ensuring the success of the project both from the client and project team perspective. The project team will ensure to communicate with Dr. Galvin in the event of any major difficulties with the project and be receptive to her input on all aspects of the project.
ANU Research School of Population Health
The RSPH will be responsible for conducting clinical trials of the KetoWhistle once a workable prototype has been created. The project team must ensure that all requirements of the RSPH regarding this process are met to enable the product to be safely and successfully tested by end-users.
ANU Nanotechnology Research Laboratory
The NRL is responsible for developing the acetone sensors used by the KetoWhistle to detect ketoacidosis. The NRL has already developed multiple different acetone sensors which have been integrated into previous versions of the KetoWhistle. The project team will work with the NRL to ensure the latest possible version of their sensor is included in any KetoWhistle prototypes.
Lu Chen
Lu Chen is the ENGN4221 tutor for the project team. She is responsible for giving feedback to the team at each of the audits as well as throughout the project. Lu will be the project team's first point of contact for any questions related to the course. The project team will ensure they maintain regular communication with Lu so that she is aware of the team's progress.
Previous KetoWhistle Project Teams
At least 3Â teams have already completed work on the KetoWhistle project. These teams have contributed valuable work designing the chassis and custom PCBs required for the product. They will be a valuable source of knowledge for the current project team if they have any questions relating to both past and future work. The previous teams may also be interested in the outcomes of the project, having spent significant time on it.
